We have broken the code for Google!

Okay. Not really.

Many have tried and quite a few SEO companies have claimed that they have actually done it. Malarkey.

Here is what Google states on its website at the following URL:

• No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.

  Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege a "special relationship" with Google, or advertise a "priority submit" to Google. There is no priority submit for Google. In fact, the only way to submit a site to Google directly is through our Add URL page or through the Google Sitemaps program, and you can do this yourself at no cost whatsoever.

So we know that the only way to get into Google is through their Add URL or Sitemaps. Fine. This is what we use at TxWorld to add sites to their list of websites to be crawled. But it does take more than just asking them to scan your site - the content of your site, along with links to your site and a few other things are critical ingredients for moving up the list to a coveted top ranking.

Google's Goal: provide relevant search results to the people using its search engine.

Relevant. If most of the content on your website is about how good you are, and not about what it is that you do, don't expect to get a high ranking in Google. Here is an example that will help you gain some insight into content relevancy:

Dentist is mentioned one time in the text. There is no location mentioned.

What do you think the result would be if you typed in "dentist plano texas" into a search engine?

A human would understand this is about a dentist. A search engine will certainly not.
