What is eCommerce?
In its simplest terms, eCommerce is selling products online, or
via the Internet. The following picture graphically details a
typical online purchase.

- The customer places an order
with the merchant via a website,
call center, retail location, or
wireless device.
- Authorize.Net (Gateway)
receives the transaction via the
Internet, securely encrypts it,
and submits an authorization
request to the customer's Credit
Card Issuer to verify both the
account and funds availability.
- The authorization (or
decline) response is returned
via Authorize.Net to the
merchant. Round trip this
process averages less than 3
seconds.
- Upon approval, the merchant
fills the customer's order.
- Authorize.Net sends the
settlement request to the
Merchant Account Provider.
- The Merchant Account
Provider deposits settlement
funds into the merchant's
account.

through the features of either. osCommerce is free with
our eCommerce hosting accounts, and CandyPress can be
purchased for $50 from their website. Either may be
customized to achieve the desired look and feel of your
brand image.

 Select a hosting plan. TxWorld offers eCommerce hosting
plans for Windows and Unix based servers. osCommerce shopping cart
runs on either Windows or Unix, however CandyPress runs only on
Windows using MS Access or SQL Server. |
 Establish
Credit Card processing. Face it, if you don't take
credit cards on the Internet you will lose most
potential customers. Based on the shopping cart system,
we will help you determine who is the best gateway and
credit card processor. We can even help you establish a
